  | 2001 Viognier Vogelzang Vineyard
“This super-rich, but not ponderously heavy local Viognier has loads of coconut, peach, and pineapple fruit. The texture is silky, slick, and almost obscenely tactile, due largely to the 100% barrel fermentation. Benjamin used four year old barrels so the oak character is all but impossible to pick out, allowing the fruit to speak unhindered. Great before dinner or to cool down the heat of, say, curried chicken, this deeply colored Viognier leaves a big impression on the palate.” Bob Wesley, Lazy Acres Market
“Pretty peach, apricot, melon and spice notes frame a core of refreshing, lemon-like acidity. The finish shows a hint of vanilla and more spice.” Jeff Morgan, Wine Enthusiast Magazine (06/03)
